OpenSCAD Tools
OpenSCAD is a free, code-based CAD tool: you describe a solid model with a short script, and changing a number regenerates the part. That makes it well suited to parametric parts for 3D printing, laser cutting, and customizable designs.
New to OpenSCAD? Follow the interactive six-lesson beginner tutorial: edit each exercise, render it in 3D, and check your answer, all locally in your browser. Then practice with guided examples and keep the cheatsheet open while you work.

Tools and learning
- OpenSCAD Tutorial for BeginnersInteractive: six short lessons with exercises you edit, render in 3D, and check — shapes, transforms, booleans, variables and modules, loops, and printable models.
- OpenSCAD PlaygroundWrite OpenSCAD in your browser, preview in 3D, tune Customizer parameters, and export STL, 3MF, SVG, or DXF. No install required.
- OpenSCAD examples and lessonsGuided, editable models from first primitives to enclosures, threads, and BOSL2 gears.
- OpenSCAD cheatsheetPrimitives, transforms, booleans, extrusion, modules, loops, and Customizer syntax, each runnable in the playground.
- AI assistant in the playgroundAsk for a model, explain code, or fix compiler errors. Suggested edits are compiled before you apply them.

- Parametric Mounting PlateMake a useful first part by subtracting four clearance holes from a rounded plate.
- PrimitivesRecognize the three basic solids and understand where their origins sit.
- 2D Plate ProfileBuild a planar profile and export SVG before adding any height.
- From Profile to SolidReuse a 2D module inside linear_extrude to make a slotted solid.
- Transform OrderSee why rotating then translating is not the same as translating then rotating.
- Boolean OperationsCompare union, difference, and intersection using genuinely separate child solids.
What do you want to make?
Each lesson opens an editable model ready to export.
